CoachBee to MyCoach: Transition FAQ’s

Starting in June 2026, you’ll get your college support from MyCoach instead of CoachBee. MyCoach is a free, 24/7 AI college coach built by the Beyond 12 team – same commitment to your success, just a smarter and more powerful way to get support!


The Basics

What is MyCoach?

MyCoach is an AI-powered college coach designed specifically to support college students like yourself succeed in college and beyond. It gives you thoughtful, personalized answers to your questions (not scripted responses) and it’s available any time, day or night. You can ask about classes, deadlines, financial aid, campus life, career planning, and everything in between. When you want to talk to a real human, Beyond 12 coaches are just a few clicks away!


Why is CoachBee being replaced?

CoachBee did a lot of good work, but MyCoach is a big step forward. Because it uses generative AI, MyCoach gives you real, tailored answers instead of pre-written scripts. This means no matter what you’re going through, you’ll get a response that fits your situation. The new web platform also unlocks features that weren’t possible over text, like saving your conversations, booking coach calls, and updating your student profile.


Will I still get the same level of support?

Yes, and then some. Everything you valued about CoachBee (tips, reminders, coach access) is still here. On top of that, you now have a 24/7 AI coach who can go deep on whatever you need, whenever you need it.


Using MyCoach

How do I access MyCoach?

Head to mycoachapp.org on any browser – your phone, tablet, or computer. No app download needed. Use your phone number to log in. 


Can I use MyCoach on my phone?

Absolutely. The web platform is mobile-friendly and works great on your phone’s browser – just go to mycoachapp.org.


What can MyCoach help me with?

Pretty much anything college-related, including:

  • Connecting with a human Beyond 12 coach
  • Preparing for the first term in college
  • Classes, studying, and academic challenges
  • Deadlines, registration, and time management
  • Financial aid, scholarships, and college costs
  • Career planning and internships
  • Navigating campus life and tough situations

Can I still talk to a real human coach?

Yes! Human Beyond 12 coaches are still available. Through MyCoach, you can book or reschedule a call whenever it’s convenient for you – no need to be on a call or mid-conversation with a coach to make it happen. Just open the platform, pick a time that works, and you’re set!


What new features will I have access to?

  • Threaded conversations so your chats stay organized
  • Saved messages so you can find helpful info later without scrolling forever
  • In-app coach booking to connect with a human coach in just a few clicks
  • A student profile you can update as your situation changes

How are my conversations and data handled?

Your data and conversations with MyCoach are treated with discretion and care. Your conversations are never made publicly available, or seen by other students. A small group of authorized staff at Beyond 12 or your school may review conversations when needed for safety, quality support, and platform security. Texts and reminders

Will I still get text messages?

Yes! MyCoach will send you helpful tips, reminders, and outreach via SMS. Save this number so you recognize it: (510) 988-5351.

Can I have conversations with MyCoach over text?

No. MyCoach conversations happen on the web platform at mycoachapp.org. If you text the MyCoach number, you’ll get an automatic reply directing you to the website, which you can access on your desktop or your phone.

Will CoachBee still text me?

No. Once you’re signed up for MyCoach, your number will be removed from CoachBee’s contact list. If you text CoachBee after signing up (or after June 28, 2026), you’ll get an auto-response pointing you to MyCoach.

What if I don’t have a phone number or my number changes?

You don’t need a carrier phone plan to use MyCoach, you can use a Google Voice number to sign up and log in. If your number changes, simply sign up again using your new number. Do I need to do anything right now?

Yes! Here’s how to get set up:

  • Save (510) 988-5351 in your contacts so you’ll recognize tips and reminders from MyCoach
  • Log in with your phone number
  • Ask your first question – it’s that easy!
