Born in Yemen and raised in Oakland, California, Coach Khawla graduated from the University of California at Davis, where she majored in sustainable environmental design.

First, build a circle of trust! It can be hard out there. Nurture your community early on and make space for friendship to grow. That way, your support network’s there when you need it.
Second, believe in yourself! YOU are the starting point for your circle of trust. Treat yourself with kindness and listen to your body. We tend to harbor a lot of stress and anxiety within, which can manifest itself physically in the body (e.g., backaches, exhaustion). Hydrate yourself daily and rest often!
