stressbuster: take a time out

There are all kinds of ways to de-stress. But one of the most effective de-stressors is also the simplest: take a break, whether it’s for 5 mins or an afternoon. Here are 10 ideas:

  1. go outside and take a walk, even if it’s short
  2. find busy place to sit and people-watch 
  3. take a long bath, if you can 
  4. grab a quick, energizing shower 
  5. stretch, breathe, or follow along with a YouTube yoga video
  6. take a dog for a walk … or a snuggle
  7. make coffee, tea, or hot chocolate
  8. take a tiny bite out of your to-dos: run an errand, organize your physical space
  9. play an old-school board game, do a puzzle, or play a chill game on your phone
  10. get a square piece of paper, look up instructions, and do some origami
