“You never know who you’ll meet and how they can help you in the future.”
I’m a first-generation college student, born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. My undergraduate degree is in health science and psychology, from Georgia Southern University, and I’m currently pursuing a master’s degree in public health.
I de-stress by making sure I make time for myself every single day. Most days that means going to the gym, unplugging from social media, or treating myself to a nice meal.
I previously served as a peer mentor and advisor, which is where I discovered a passion for supporting student success and especially for ensuring that every student, regardless of their background, has access to equal opportunities.
Coaching at Beyond 12 is a perfect opportunity to continue to exercise my passion and develop it in new ways.
I think the most important thing for college success is managing your time properly and getting involved on campus. You’ll make friends and gain valuable skills. Having to pay attention to the personal, academic, and social aspects of your life can also improve how you manage your time.
Network early on in your college career! Go to your professors’ office hours, campus events, hang out in your student union. You never know who you’ll meet and how they can help you in the future.
