Explore and use the resources and opportunities on your campus!
I am originally from Steubenville, Ohio, but grew up in various states because I am a military baby! I have been in Georgia the longest and I graduated in 2018 from Augusta University with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and graduated in 2022 from the University of West Georgia with a Master of Education in college student affairs.
I am a music enthusiast and I enjoy attending concerts. Once, I attended 16 concerts in one year.
My time as a peer academic coach and as an academic advisor impacted me to become a college coach. As a peer academic coach, I had authentic conversations with students regarding topics on transportation, time management, study skills, handling personal issues, and much more. As an academic advisor, I spoke with students about academics, but also, internships, campus engagement, financial resources, study abroad, work-study and much more.
Through each experience, I wanted to showcase support and encouragement to students to make sure that they conquered their goals. I got those values from my undergraduate academic advisor, Mr. Jerry. He was a light and I want to ensure that I display the same light and be the best college coach for my students.
I didn’t take a lot resources and opportunities offered on my college campus seriously until I was in my senior year of my undergraduate experience. Some of those resources were student study groups, tutoring, peer to peer mentoring, internships and study abroad. I was so focused on graduating and not utilizing the resources and opportunities on campus.
I wished I would have utilized those resources the moment I stepped on campus!
